A farmer was visited one day by a government official who needed to inspect his land.

The farmer said "That's fine; but don't go in that field over there."

The official told him,
"Do you see this card? I'm here on official government business and I will go wherever I feel it is necessary to do my job with no interference from you or anyone else. I hope that's clear!"

The farmer nodded and left to go about his business. A short time later, he heard some anguished screams and saw that his bull was chasing the government man in the field the farmer had tried to warn him about. The farmer ran over to the fence and saw that the bull was gaining on the official with every step.

The farmer cupped his hands and yelled over the fence,
"Your card! Show him your CARD!!"
